THE ZINGERLEMETAL-STORY.
The year is 1948. Franz Zingerle has just pocketed his millwright certificate and his head is full of plans. In the modest confines of the house in which he was born, his father gives him his first opportunity to make something of himself.
By 1963, it becomes necessary to expand the living quarters and operational facility in Schabs for the first time. In 1979, Franz moves to the hamlet‘s industrial zone, where he has acquired a property to build the base for the future. His sons, Martin and Georg, recognize the potential of their father‘s operation and join the company in 1985.
Back then, the company was manufacturing equipment and machinery for agricultural, residential and environmental purposes. In 1986, Zingerlemetal starts producing bases for picnic tables and benches. It also becomes apparent at that time that the long-term existence and independence of the company can only be guaranteed by establishing an in-house sales organization. Four years later, party and promotional tents are added to the product portfolio. The Zingerle brothers soon recognize the demand for high-quality products and in 1993, start manufacturing and selling their own line of tents under the brand name MASTERTENT.
In 1997, it is decided to open the fi rst foreign subsidiary in Spain. Zingerlemetal España is founded shortly thereafter. The company continues to grow. During the following years, a number of foreign subsidiaries are established in Germany, France, Switzerland, Netherlands and in nearly whole european countries till arriving to USA, Chile and Australia. In that way, Zingerlemetal become the leader on the world in producing and commercializing foldable tents.
Finally, in 2008 the company has a very important birthday: 60 years Zingerlemetal. The company currently has an international sales network of subsidiaries and importers and is represented in 29 countries. The entire group of companies presently has 180 employees.
One of the largest South-Tyrolean photo-voltaic systems is mounted on the roof of the Zingerlemetal factory supplying electric power for the production, thus making an active contribution to environmental protection. The Zingerle family has understood for decades how to pass value from generation to generation and at the same time remain bold and innovative. The company’s philosophy is formulated accordingly: “THE FASCINATING THING ABOUT THE FUTURE IS THAT WE ARE ABLE TO SHAPE IT.”
