The difference between UPF and SPF

SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is a term used for cosmetics and sun creams. UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) refers to fabrics, in the form of clothing as well as tents and pop-up gazebos. A gazebo with UPF 50+ guarantees an extremely high level of screening, letting through less than 2% of UV rays.

DIN EN 13758-1 certification: what is it, and why does it matter?

The DIN EN 13758-1 standard establishes the technical requirements for UV protection of fabrics intended for outdoor use. Mastertent gazebos fully comply with this standard, ensuring an objective and measurable sun protection standard.

Independent institutes and laboratory testing for UV protection

Our certification was issued by Textilforschungsinstitut Thüringen Vogtland e.V., an independent German institute accredited by Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (DAkkS). In addition, tests conducted by TÜV also attest to the effectiveness and quality of the materials used.

UPF 50+ UV resistance certification: understanding the results

Mastertent fabrics have a UPF value of 786 and 9301, significantly higher than 50! We can therefore guarantee complete UV protection.
