What is the history behind the Loden fabric?

The loden cloth is a natural product and is made of white sheep's wool. The wool is milled and the wool fibres are laid on top of each other like roof tiles, creating a particularly water-repellent structure. Our loden is purchased from the traditional South Tyrolean company Moessmer and cut and sewn in our production to produce your individual loden tent. The gazebo cover is available in the colours dark green, dark grey, light grey, bordeaux and ecru.

In the past the loden cloth was mainly used in rural areas for the production of clothing and is, to this day, associated with mountains and the Alps. Today many fashion designers and architects use the traditional fabric for clothing or interior design

Flexible Cover

You cannot decide between an alpine-style gazebo and a classic one? With Mastertent you don't have to.

The loden fabric is simply placed as a cover over the standard gazebo roof and then fastened. This enables the removal of the loden fabric (if necessary) to use it as a classic gazebo. The gazebo cover can be stored in its Mastertent packaging until its next use.

The gazebo fabric, underneath the loden cover, guarantees 100% waterproofness and stability. If the loden material is soaked by rain, it must be left to dry on the gazebo in its assembled condition. Otherwise, there is a risk of mold growth.
