What is the history behind the Loden fabric?

The loden cloth is a natural product and is made of white sheep's wool. The wool is milled, and the wool fibers are laid on top of each other like roof tiles, creating a particularly water-repellent structure. Our loden fabric is purchased from the traditional South Tyrolean company Moessmer and cut and sewn in our production to produce your individual loden tent. The canopy tent cover is available in dark green, dark grey, light grey, bordeaux, and ecru.

While the loden cloth has a strong historical association with rural areas and the production of clothing, it has also found a place in modern design. Today, many fashion designers and architects are inspired by its unique properties and use the traditional fabric for clothing or interior design, showcasing its adaptability and versatility.

The core canopy tent fabric, underneath the Rustic cover, is 100% waterproof and fire-retardant. However, because of the texture of the Rustic loden fabric it is natural absorbant and if rained on can simply be left open to dry before storing. Taking these steps help keep your Rustic Package looking good and performing its best for years to come.
